A European bittering hop of Galena heredity developed in 1980. This hop has a pleasant aroma character with clean bittering properties. Magnum has an excellent tolerance to disease, making it a popular choice for hop farmers.
Pedigree: Bred at the Hop Research Institute in Hull, a cross between Galena and a German male.
Brewing Usage: Bittering
Aroma: No distinct aroma characteristics
Alpha Acids %: 10.0-14.0
Beta Acids %: 4.5-7.0
Co-Humolone: 24-30% of alpha acids
Total Oil: 1.9-3.0 mls/100g
